David Halpern and Jill Gautreaux Join Kean Miller in New Orleans

Kean Miller is pleased to announce that David J. Halpern has joined the firm as a partner in the New Orleans office.  In addition, Jill A. Gautreaux has joined the firm as Special Counsel.  Both were formerly with McGlinchey Stafford in New Orleans.  David and Jill bring a wealth of experience in business transactions, real estate, administrative law, licensing, land use, and commercial transactions.  “We are excited to welcome David and Jill to the Kean Miller family.  Their experience in the New Orleans business community, hospitality industry and real estate market is unmatched, and a complement to our firm’s explosive growth in the Crescent City,” said Blane Clark, Managing Partner of the 154 attorney law firm.

About David Halpern

David Halpern has over 30 years of legal and business experience, and assists clients with a variety of legal, corporate, and land use matters.  His clients include national, regional, and local business entities, hospitality venues, and New Orleans area businesses.  His practice includes land use issues, mergers and acquisitions, and business transactions.  He also serves on governmental advisory boards and represents businesses and individuals before regulatory authorities.

David is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell, and was recognized by New Orleans Magazine in 2009 as a New Orleans Top Lawyer. He serves the legal profession as Chairman of one of the Louisiana State Bar Association’s Disciplinary Board Hearing Committees (2010-2017).   David holds a J.D. from the LSU Law Center.

About Jill Gautreaux

Jill Gautreaux assists clients with corporate matters, real estate, liquor licensing, and business transactions in the hospitality, technology, retail, and professional services sectors.  She handles corporate transactional matters including business formation, buy/sell agreements, mergers and acquisitions, and dissolution/liquidation.  Jill also represents individuals and companies in contractual disputes and shareholder litigation in Federal and State courts.

In the New Orleans area, she helps her clients in a wide variety of legal and transactional matters including leases, sales, mortgages, land use applications, and condominium regimes, and she regularly appears on behalf of her clients in litigation and administrative proceedings involving boards and commissions in the New Orleans area. Jill holds a J.D. from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law.
