Kean Miller Adds New Legal Talent

Kean Miller is pleased to announce the addition of five new attorneys supporting our real estate, business, construction, and environmental litigation teams.  John C. Funderburk has joined the firm as special counsel, and Edwin R. Noland, III, Wade R. Iverstine, Dorothy D. Thomas and Alexis M. Breedlove have joined the firm as associates.  All are located in the firm’s Baton Rouge office.

About John Funderburk

John will practice with the litigation and construction teams.  Prior to joining the firm, he was an associate with global law firm Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP in its Houston office.  John received his B.A. from Spring Hill College in 1999 and earned his J.D./B.C.L. from Louisiana State University, Paul M. Hebert Law Center in 2005, where he was a member of the Louisiana Law Review.

About Edwin Noland


Edwin will practice with the business, corporate and real estate teams.  Prior to joining the firm, he was an associate in a law firm in Shreveport, Louisiana.  He received his B.S. from Louisiana State University in 2008 and earned his J.D., cum laude, from Mississippi College of Law in 2011. He served as a research fellow at the Mississippi Court of Appeals and clerked for the Louisiana 20th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.

About Wade Iverstine

Wade will practice with the business, corporate and real estate teams.  Prior to joining the firm, he was an associate in a Baton Rouge-based bankruptcy firm.  Wade received his B.A. from Louisiana State University in 2004 and earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Illinois College of Law in 2008, where he was a member of the Elder Law Journal. He served as a law clerk for the Honorable Patrick M. Flately of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of West Virginia. He also interned with the Honorable James J. Brady of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana and with the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington D.C.

About Dorothy Thomas

Dorothy will practice with the energy and environmental litigation teams.  Prior to joining the firm, she worked with the Louisiana First Circuit Court of Appeal.  Dorothy received her B.A. from Louisiana State University in 1975, and earned her J.D. from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law in 1979, where she was a member and Lead Articles Editor of the Loyola Law Review.

About Alexis Breedlove

Alexis will practice with the energy and environmental litigation teams.  Prior to joining the firm, she was an attorney with Hannah, Colvin & Pipes.  Alexis received her B.S. from Louisiana State University in 2002 and earned her J.D./B.C.L. from Louisiana State University, Paul M. Hebert Law Center in 2006.
