Kean Miller LLP Names Two New Partners

Kean Miller LLP is pleased to announce that two associates were elected to the partnership in Baton Rouge and New Orleans offices effective January 1, 2009.   The new partners include:  J. Eric Lockridge (Baton Rouge; Bankruptcy and Business Reorganization, Commercial Litigation, Intellectual Property) and Stephen C. Hanemann (New Orleans; Admiralty and Maritime).  

About Eric Lockridge

Eric Lockridge is a partner in the Baton Rouge office of Kean Miller LLP. He joined the firm in September 2005 and practices in the Commercial Litigation, Business Reorganization and Bankruptcy, and Intellectual Property groups.  Eric devotes a majority of his practice to litigation. He has tried commercial and tort cases to verdict, and successfully defended judgments on appeal. He currently focuses on bankruptcy-related litigation and complex commercial cases for Kean Miller's construction, energy and financial sector clients.  Eric advises Kean Miller's corporate clients on risk-management and strategic issues, such as corporate structures, document retention programs, and insurance-related concerns. He also uses his experience in intellectual-property and trade-secret litigation to assist clients with negotiating and implementing licensing agreements, joint ventures, non-compete agreements, and other business goals. Before attending law school, Eric served as Assistant Press Secretary to former United States Senator Paul Coverdell of Georgia.  Eric earned his J.D. with honors from The University of Texas School of Law in 1999. In law school, Eric was a member of the National Mock Trial Team and served as associate editor for the Texas Review of Law and Politics. Eric earned his B.A. in Political Science from Emory University in 1995.

About Stephen Hanemann

Stephen Hanemann is a partner in the New Orleans office of Kean Miller LLP. He practices in the Admiralty and Maritime practice group. He has extensive experience in a wide variety of admiralty issues, including Jones Act, personal injury, oil and gas exploration, pipeline spills, drilling accidents, well blowouts, cargo loss and damage, ship and barge collisions, ship allisions, vessel groundings, lift boat and jack-up rig accidents, dock damage, vessel liens, sunken barges, vessel mortgage filings, product liability, redhibition, commercial lease agreements, and other commercial litigation issues. Stephen has also been instrumental in forming and developing local construction companies and assisting them with various issues relating to contract procurement and negotiation, as well as demolition and remediation services.  Stephen received his J.D. from the Loyola University School of Law in 2002, where he served as a member of the Moot Court program, Moot Court T.A., Treasurer and President of the Student Bar Association. He earned his B.A. in French from the University of Texas at Austin in 1999 and also studied French abroad at the Université Catholique De L'Ouest in Angers, France.
