About the Louis A. Martinet Society

The Louis A. Martinet Society is the result of efforts made by African-American attorneys to combat racial injustices and inequalities that existed in the 1950’s.  The Society encourages the interchange of ideas, promotes legal scholarship, advances the science of jurisprudence, promotes the administration of justice, upholds the order and ethics of the courts, and promotes the welfare of the legal profession in Louisiana.
