Bill Courtney is Of Counsel to Kean Miller's New Orleans office. Bill joined the firm in 2001 and practices in the litigation group. He has more than thirty years of experience and regularly represents clients in the maritime, oil and gas, chemical, refining and construction industry.

Representative Experience

• Representation of major industrial companies for recovery of damages to maritime docking facilities.
• Successful representation of major pipeline company for recovery of clean-up and remediation expenses in environmental pollution cases.
• Representation of major chemical company for claims arising out of the dismantlement and relocation overseas of fertilizer manufacturing complex.
• Representation of major oil company in claims arising on the Outer Continental Shelf.

Education

Bill earned his B.S. from Louisiana State University in 1969 and his J.D. from the LSU Law Center in 1973. He served as Deputy Judicial Administrator to the Louisiana Supreme Court and as Staff Counsel to the Judiciary Commission of Louisiana from 1973 to 1976.
