Laura Hart is an associate attorney in the Baton Rouge office of Kean Miller. She joined the firm in 2003 and her practice concentrates on environmental and energy-related litigation. Laura's litigation experience includes disputes in both federal, state, and tribal court. Her clients are frequently energy, industrial, and construction clients who require representation in complex environmental tort litigation, contract disputes and personal injury cases.

Representative Experience

  • Representation of large oil companies in legacy oilfield litigation concerning claims of property and groundwater contamination.
  • Representation of chemical, petrochemical and chemical transport companies in mass tort suits.
  • Representation of large construction company in class action suits alleging defective performance, defective design, and toxic mold.

Education

Laura earned her law degree from the LSU Law Center in 2003 and was a member of the Louisiana Law Review. She earned a B.S. in Social Science Education from Northwestern State University in 1997 and was a high school social studies teacher prior to attending law school.
