Deborah Juneau is a partner in the Baton Rouge office of Kean Miller. She joined the firm in 1999 and practices in the litigation, medical malpractice defense, and health law groups. Deborah represents clients in medical malpractice litigation, commercial and business litigation, environmental litigation, toxic tort defense, and insurance defense.

Deborah has particular experience in litigation involving medical malpractice, personal injury and asbestos litigation.  She has represented physicians in licensing matters before the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners, as well as in credentialing matters at hospitals.

Representative Experience

  • Successfully defended dismissal of case against a major chemical company on grounds of abandonment by winning unanimous Louisiana Supreme Court decision.
  • Successfully negotiated dismissal of major chemical company from a number of asbestos exposure suits.
  • Representation of numerous physicians in medical malpractice claims.
  • Representation of commercial and industrial clients in personal injury litigation.
  • Representation of physicians and other healthcare providers in licensing and credentialing matters.

Education

Deborah earned her B.S. from Louisiana State University in 1976. She earned her J.D. from the LSU Law Center in 1999 where she was a member of the Order of the Coif and a member of the Louisiana Law Review. She is a member of the LSU Law Center Hall of Fame.
