Terry McCay is a partner in the Lake Charles office of Kean Miller. Terry joined the firm in 1999 and practices in the labor and employment, and business defense groups. Terry has extensive experience in the Louisiana forest products, pulp and paper, and chemical industry, and was selected as one of the "Best Lawyers in America" for 2007 in timber law.

Terry assists in representing local, regional and national industrial clients in cases involving the EEOC, ADA, ADEA, sexual harassment, wrongful termination, and union negotiations.

A professional forester and Land Administration Manager with Boise Cascade before going to law school, Terry has specific experience in cases involving exposure to toxic substances, general civil litigation and defense, maritime matters, property issues, and collections cases. He is a regular speaker on employment law issues at seminars sponsored by the Chamber/Southwest Louisiana, McNeese State University, and the Louisiana Department of Labor.

Education

Terry earned his B.S. in Forestry from the University of Kentucky in 1980. He earned his M.S. in Forest Management and Economics from Virginia Tech in 1982 and his M.B.A. in 1983 from Virginia Tech. He received his J.D. from the LSU Law Center in 1999, and was a member of the Moot Court Board from 1998 to 1999.
