Hank Naylor is special counsel to the Baton Rouge office of Kean Miller. Prior to joining the firm, Hank was in private practice representing select chemical clients in preparing and prosecuting US and foreign patent applications. He was also responsible for hiring and training patent attorneys for a major international petrochemical and refining company.

Hank has particular experience in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications in the chemical and mechanical arts, and has prepared non-infringement and validity opinions.

Representative Experience

  • Representation of clients in the preparation and prosecution of a wide variety of US and foreign chemical and petroleum patent applications.
  • Representation of clients in patentability, non-infringement, and validity opinions, and the in the development of patent portfolios for business method patents and process technologies.
  • Negotiation and preparation of license agreements, joint research agreements, and confidentiality agreements.
  • Development of offensive and defensive patent strategies and the development of patent maps of competitor patent assets.

Education

Hank earned his B.S. in Chemistry from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1968. He earned his J.D. from Seton Hall Law School in 1974.
