Louisiana Appleseed:

In 2010, Kean Miller LLP was selected for the Louisiana Appleseed "Good Apple" award as a result of the firm's pro bono project on dating violence prevention.  Kean Miller LLP attorneys helped research, draft, and pass legislation that requires dating violence prevention be taught in all Louisiana high schools.  The award was given to the firm at the Louisiana Appleseed gala in New Orleans on January 20, 2011.

Kean Miller LLP Dictionary Project:

For nine years, our lawyers and staff have delivered free dictionaries to third-grade students in every public school in East Baton Rouge, West Baton Rouge, Iberville, and Calcasieu parishes. The Kean Miller LLP Dictionary Project has placed over 65,000 dictionaries in the hands of third-grade students across Louisiana.  Through this project, Kean Miller LLP is helping children "read to learn" instead of "learn to read."

Volunteer Health Corps of Baton Rouge:

A team of business, health law, and health care regulatory attorneys from Kean Miller LLP were instrumental in helping to form and organize the Volunteer Health Corps of Baton Rouge.  The organization is a non-profit established to assist with providing care to the uninsured in the Baton Rouge community.  The group is a link between the private practice community and LSU in an effort to assist the State in providing health
care for those who need it the most -- and who are uninsured.

At Kean Miller LLP, giving back to the community is more than a convenient statement.  It is the way we do business.  For more information on Kean Miller's civic activities, or to submit sponsorship information for a community or charitable organization, please contact Steve Boutwell, Director of Client Services, at 225.389.3736 or steve.boutwell@keanmiller.com
