Michael deBarros is an associate attorney in the Baton Rouge office of Kean Miller. He joined the firm in 2012 and practices in the labor and employment group.

Prior to joining the firm, Michael served as a Law Clerk to United States District Court Chief Judge Ralph E. Tyson, Middle District of Louisiana and Justice Bess Nkabinde, Constitutional Court of South Africa. While in law school, Michael served as an extern to Justice John L. Weimer, at the Louisiana Supreme Court.

Representative Experience

• Successfully argued and obtained dismissal of a civil RICO suit alleging over $300,000 in damages
• Obtained dismissal of Petition of Intervention on behalf of health-care services provider
• Obtained dismissal of lawsuit alleging hostile work environment and pendent state law claims on behalf of large telecommunications service provider
  

Education

Michael received his B.S. in Business Administration from Louisiana State University in 2005. He received his J.D., cum laude, in 2009 from the LSU Law Center where he served as secretary of the Intellectual Property Law Association and was a member of the Black American Law Students Association.
