Chief Marketing and Business Development Officer

Carolee Swallie is the firm’s Chief Marketing and Business Development Officer. Carolee is responsible for the strategic direction and execution of Kean Miller's business development, client relations, and marketing initiatives. Her primary responsibilities include the advance of growth strategies, practice- based business development, and facilitating strong client relationships through communication, education and coaching. She and her team ensure the firm’s business development and marketing efforts speak to the client’s needs and interests. The group is responsible for business development planning and execution, client interviews, market data and analytics, brand management, public relations, media relations, advertising, external and internal communications, website and digital marketing communication, competitive intelligence, and practice group support.

Prior to joining Kean Miller, Carolee held similar roles at several national and regional firms where she designed and managed client feedback and business development training programs, facilitated key- client programs, and implemented firm-wide client service initiatives.

She is frequent speaker at legal marketing industry conferences and forums, and is a certified White Belt in Process Improvement and Project Management from the Legal Lean Sigma Institute.

Carolee enjoys pottery and discovering treasures in second-hand stores. She is an avid gamer - both board and video.

Education

Carolee earned her Master’s degree in Integrated Marketing Communications from Northwestern University and a B.A. in Mass Communication and Broadcast Journalism from Utah State University.
