Jaye Calhoun will join Jeffrey Birdsong of Jones Walker and John Yoak of Frazier & Deeter Advisory for an interactive mock trial exploring the progression of a sales and use tax controversy. Participants will step into the mock courtroom and follow a multistate tax dispute from audit findings and sampling through assessment, protest, and hearing strategy.

Through a realistic fact pattern involving common high-risk issues, the presenters will examine how auditors build their cases, how taxpayers challenge those positions, and how evidence and testimony can shape a proceeding. The session will provide practical insight into developing a defensible record, pressure-testing technical positions, preparing witnesses, and anticipating cross-examination involving invoices, contracts, and data.
