Jeff Price is senior counsel in the Shreveport office of Kean Miller. He joined the firm in 2018 and practices in the business, regulatory, intellectual property and estate planning groups. A highly experienced corporate, real estate, regulatory and M&A attorney, Jeff previously practiced as an in-house counsel with a large publicly traded midstream oil and gas company in Dallas, Texas as well as in private practice in Washington, D.C and Shreveport, LA. He regularly assists clients with entity formation, corporate documentation and by-laws, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, real estate, energy regulatory, estate planning and intellectual property matters.

Representative Experience
  • Representation of a publicly traded midstream oil and gas company in all manner of corporate transactions including corporate formation, mergers and acquisitions, real property acquisition/divesture and the negotiation of complex commercial agreements including credit agreements, indentures, gathering agreements, service agreements and marketing agreements
  • Representation of the Louisiana Public Service Commission in the challenge of an EPA rule governing emissions from electric generating units at the District of Columbia Court of Appeals
  • Representation of a large mineral servitude owner in all aspects of a multi-million dollar legacy oil and gas litigation matter in South Louisiana
  • Representation of a major regional electric utility company in a broad array of legal and regulatory matters at both the federal and state level, including transmission tariff compliance issues, state/federal policy initiatives, and customer contract disputes
  • Representation of various gas pipeline clients on a wide range of legal and regulatory compliance and commercial transaction matters including tariff interpretation, contract negotiation, and state/federal rate filings
  • Representation of a large gas pipeline company before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission in all phases of a contested rate proceeding and settlement
  • Representation of individual inventors and companies in the prosecution of new patents, acquisition of trademarks, licensing of inventions and protection of intellectual property through confidentiality agreements, work-for-hire agreements and other agreements
Education

Jeff earned his B.S., cum laude, from Louisiana Tech University in 2001. He earned his J.D. with honors, from the University of Arkansas, William H. Bowen School of Law in 2006.
