Kean Miller is seeking a qualified associate with 1 - 4 years’ of litigation experience. Our Offshore Energy Group represents clients in a variety of disputes involving joint-operating agreement disputes, BSEE and BOEM regulatory matters, Jones Act, personal injury and wrongful death claims, pipeline spills, drilling rig accidents, well blowouts, and other related energy and maritime matters. We also represent clients in business transactions involving ships, vessel mortgages and financings of oil and gas exploration equipment. Candidates should have excellent academic credentials (Top 10% preferred, Top 20% required), strong writing skills, and excellent references. A Federal Clerkship is a plus given that most of the group’s cases end up in federal courts in Louisiana and Texas. Candidates must demonstrate the ability and the desire to interact directly with Kean Miller’s clients and to further develop client and referral relationships. The successful candidate should have a track record of high achievement, the desire to work in a fast-paced challenging environment, the ability to work as part of a team, and possess superior written and verbal communication skills. A current state bar license is required, but attorneys licensed outside Louisiana who desire to move back to the state are invited to apply.
