Sarah Weissman Anderson

Sarah Anderson is a partner in the Baton Rouge office of Kean Miller. She joined the firm in 2011 and practices in the litigation, toxic tort and data security groups.

Sarah's trial practice involves defending and litigating on behalf of petrochemical, energy, and pipeline companies in cases involving premises liability, products liability, personal injury, pipeline expropriation, and in property acquisition litigation for industrial and commercial expansion projects.

Representative Experience
  • Representation of major petrochemical companies in toxic tort litigation matters involving alleged benzene and asbestos exposures
  • Assists the Governor of Louisiana’s Cybersecurity Commission with drafting of cybersecurity legislation
  • Representation of global pipeline company in successful acquisition of properties from southeast Louisiana to Texas for a petroleum pipeline
  • Representation of global pipeline company in property acquisition and for chemical facility expansion
  • Representation of clients in complex real property partition actions
  • Representation of major petrochemical company in timber dispute as part of property acquisition
  • Representation of public port against property access and personal injury claims
  • Representation of nationally recognized construction company in commercial, contract, and surety litigation; including federal contract novation and asset purchase sale
  • Representation of north Louisiana municipality against National Flood Insurance Act claims
  • Defense of a local homebuilder and other businesses in various contract and payment disputes
  • Successful representation of state agency in Design-Build litigation for military construction project
  • Served a rotational tour in Port-au-Prince, Haiti as legal advisor to Task Force Commander
Education

Sarah earned her B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Georgia Honors College in 2006, where she was a Distinguished Military Graduate, awarded the George C. Marshall award, and an Army ROTC scholarship. She earned her J.D., cum laude, from the LSU Law Center in 2009, where she was awarded the Justice Fred A. Blanche, Jr. and Ernest N. Morial Scholarships. In 2014, Sarah graduated from US Army's Judge Advocate Officer's Advanced Course, where she earned a place on the Commandant's List. Recently, Sarah completed the Harvard Negotiation Intensive on Negotiations, part of the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School.
