"As an advocate, I focus on delivering comprehensive case analysis and hyper-preparation that results in meticulous attention to detail of case facts, as well as in designing a cogent litigation strategy that can succeed in and out of court. I am a tenacious litigant who fights for and protects my clients’ interests as if they were my own."

As an experienced civil litigator, Amanda Lowe, resolves complex disputes involving all aspects of the energy industry, all types of commercial litigation, admiralty and maritime issues and general business claims. She brings considerable and proven skill to a wide variety of energy and admiralty issues and litigation, including Jones Act and personal injury defense, oil and gas casualty and property damage claims, oil and gas exploration and offshore defense, drilling accidents, well blowouts, lost royalty claims and breaches of contract including, but not limited to, breach of joint operating agreements, master service agreements, and numerous other oil and gas contracts, imprudent operator and reservoir damage claims, ship collisions and allisions, vessel mortgage filings, product liability, and redhibition, as well as breach of contract and/or operating agreements, premises liability, construction defect litigation, and intellectual property disputes.

Notably, Amanda has developed extensive litigation success in matters involving all manner of oil and gas and maritime issues. She has successfully defended numerous clients, ranging from Fortune 500 energy companies and local maritime businesses and small E&P companies, against multi-million dollar claims in both federal and state venues throughout Louisiana and Texas. She regularly provides advice on state and federal statutes and regulations, including the OCSLA, LHWCA, GARA, and other related regulations.

Valued for her composure and poise in court and across all phases of dispute resolution, Amanda believes in being professional at every turn. However, she is effectively aggressive when it suits her client’s tactical needs and defends and prepares every case as though it will go to trial, rather than seeing trial as a last resort. Clients and colleagues alike appreciate that Amanda brings a sense of urgency to executing the work product they need without over or underworking the assignment at hand. She is a concise communicator who believes in straight talk and clear, persuasive arguments grounded in fact.

A compliment to her litigation practice, Amanda also routinely guides clients through a variety of general corporate and business law transactions, including drafting various maritime, oil and gas, and other commercial contracts. Her experience includes successfully negotiating, documenting, and closing business arrangements that range from Master Service Agreements, vessel charter contracts, construction contracts, and joint operating agreements, among other examples. Because Amanda has litigated many of these types of contracts before, she knows the pitfalls associated with such arrangements and is dedicated to mitigating the inherent risks when the contract is drafted.
