John Madison focuses his practice on construction law and dispute resolution, with additional experience in casualty and mass tort litigation. With over 25 years of experience, he devotes a majority of his practice to representing general contractors, subcontractors, owners, developers, and design professionals in disputes arising from industrial, commercial, public infrastructure, and other projects. His work includes managing and resolving disputes involving construction defects, design deficiencies, scheduling and delay claims, surety bond claims, and insurance coverage issues, as well as the broader contract and project challenges that can affect a project’s cost, schedule, and successful completion.
John is a Certified Mediator on the Louisiana Civil Mediator’s Registry, maintained by the Louisiana State Bar Association’s ADR Section, and a member of the American Arbitration Association, National Panel of Arbitrators. His ADR experience includes serving as an arbitrator in numerous large, multi-party claims arising from complex industrial construction projects. He also presents to trade associations on project management, dispute resolution, and Louisiana construction lien issues under the Private Works Act and Public Works Act.
John began his legal career serving as a Law Clerk to the Honorable John V. Parker of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana. That court experience continues to inform his analysis of complex disputes and his measured, effective advocacy for clients.
Clients value John’s ability to bring clarity to complicated disputes, assess risk, and pursue practical paths to resolution. He works closely with each client to understand the business realities behind their legal issues and to deliver advice and advocacy that protects the client’s interests and advances their business goals.
