Molly Vigour focuses her practice on business and transactional matters. She has experience with Louisiana alcohol licensing for local and national retailers; regulatory matters including permitting, licensing, and tax clearances; entity formation; business licensing; real estate transactions; commercial leases; and landlord and tenant issues. She also advises clients on local zoning and land use matters, including interpreting zoning ordinances, obtaining zoning approvals, and navigating municipal regulatory requirements. Molly brings a unique perspective to our clients based on her nearly 20 years serving as in-house counsel.
During Molly’s time as counsel to a local New Orleans company, she served as a partner to the business owners and provided guidance on federal and state wage and hour laws and employment matters such as unemployment claims, health insurance, workplace safety, Form I-9 compliance, leave management, and disability accommodation. She provided guidance and solutions to more than 200 clients during the Covid-19 pandemic including federal and state quarantine guidance and federal payroll tax credits. She worked with outside counsel on workers’ compensation litigation and corporate litigation and managed filings for corporate, insurance, and professional licenses in 10 states. Molly oversaw E-Verify employer agent services, wage garnishments, and record requests.
Molly also handled employment discrimination claims, investigations, and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (“EEOC”) responses for hospitality companies. She formed corporate entities and handled governance for numerous entities of multi-generational family business. Molly reviewed, prepared, and negotiated commercial documents including commercial and restaurant leases, vendor contracts, and franchise disclosure documentation for restaurant locations. She managed litigation matters and construction arbitration with outside counsel and monitored a commercial leasehold portfolio. Molly worked with landlords and tenants on repair and maintenance issues, disputes, and lease extensions. Molly also coordinated video gaming licenses and permits for Mardi Gras special events with state and local agencies.
After law school, Molly served as a Law Clerk for the Honorable Donald E. Walter of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana.
