Randy Young focuses his decades-long practice primarily on the areas of energy and utility regulation. He also has an extensive background and experience in river pilotage regulation and environmental toxic tort litigation. A Chambers USA “Band 1” attorney in Energy & Natural Resources and Martindale-Hubbell AV-rated advisor, Randy is also listed among The Best Lawyers in America, including as a “Lawyer of the Year,” and in the Baton Rouge Business Report’s “Capital Region 500.”

Randy represents industrial manufacturing, refining, and related companies before the Louisiana Public Service Commission and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. He ably navigates industrial companies as well as independent generation companies through matters before the LPSC and has guided telecommunications companies through multi-state regulatory complaint proceedings. Moreover, Randy is called upon to resolve myriad industry issues before the Louisiana Pilotage Fee Commission.

In the area of complex toxic tort litigation, class action proceedings and settlements, and insurance claims litigation, Randy has advocated client rights in connection with environmental litigation, remediation, and Superfund/CERCLA issues. He brings a true depth of experience and track record of favorable client results from defending major complex environmental litigation matters involving mass and toxic torts on behalf of corporate entities. Randy delivers effective advocacy both in and out of court.
