"With over 20 years of litigation experience, I bring a strategic, level-headed approach to resolving complex legal matters, with the focus on assisting our clients to obtain the justice they deserve."

Stacey Norstrud practices in the Offshore Energy and Marine Litigation and Emergency and Incident Response practice groups. For more than two decades, she has focused her practice on Jones Act defense and the resolution of maritime-related civil litigation. She also brings a deep bench of proven skill to resolving state and federal court matters involving general personal injury defense, insurance coverage, premises liability, energy construction, emergency response, general civil litigation, international business trade matters, and international salvage disputes.

A smart advocate, accomplished litigator, and tactical negotiator in and out of court, Stacey has been on the front lines of several major marine casualties and notable maritime cases, including the Deepwater Horizon oil spill and Thunderhorse production platform salvage. She has proven, time and again, her ability to productively work closely with government officials, regulatory agencies, local business owners, and international corporations to achieve favorable outcomes.

Notably, Stacey has been involved in successful arbitrations and complex, high-stakes federal, state, and appellate court litigation throughout Texas, Florida, Louisiana, Alabama, New York, and London. Her considerate representation and smart advocacy across the country have created and solidified legal precedent in maritime law.

Throughout her practice, Stacey has worked as in-house counsel for a major oil company and utilizes the unique insight and experience gained to benefit her clients. Stacey also served as legal counsel for BP’s Gulf Coast Restoration Organization, where she worked closely with government officials, regulatory agencies, environmental groups, vessel owners, and small businesses on all aspects of recovery and remediation efforts following the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.

It is no surprise that Stacey has focused her practice on admiralty-related litigation defense. Having spent her entire life on the water – whether competing in international sailing regattas, scuba diving, paddle boarding, water skiing, or boating – living on the Gulf Coast and developing a passion for the ocean continues to significantly enrich her enthusiasm and drive for the clients she serves and the maritime industry as a whole.
