Mark Stipe Joins Kean Miller in Lafayette, Strengthens Business and Corporate Practice

Kean Miller’s growth continues as the 210-attorney, full-service law firm announces the addition of Mark E. Stipe as of counsel. Mark joins Kean Miller in the Lafayette office, where he will practice with the business and corporate group with a particular focus on public bid and procurement and oilfield service mergers and acquisitions. With this growth, the firm expands its ability to provide clients with quality legal services, meaningful counsel, and a positive client experience.

Mark is a persuasive negotiator with experience solving complex legal issues and evaluating risk across different areas of an organization. He has keen sensibilities as a leader to develop and refine policies and programs as well as interact with multiple disciplines of professionals and successfully navigate governmental and regulatory agencies. Mark has experience in oilfield service mergers and acquisitions, human resources administration, complex litigation resolution, regulatory compliance, internal complaints investigation, risk insurance administration, and acquisitions and divestitures. He is also well-versed in public bid and procurement law, independent investigations, and commercial, tort, and contractual litigation.

Prior to joining the firm, Mark served as Lafayette Assistant City-Parish Attorney and general counsel for an energy services company with operations across 10 states. This experience allows him to provide part-time on-site corporate general counsel services. In addition, he served on the Louisiana Gaming Control Board, including serving as Vice-Chairman.

Mark earned his J.D. from the Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center in 1989. He earned his B.S. in Commercial Banking from Louisiana State University in 1986 and his B.S. in Accounting from Louisiana State University in 1984. Mark is a Certified Public Accountant.
