"With a background in both engineering and litigation, I bring a strategic, technically grounded approach to protecting and enforcing intellectual property."

Stephen Kepper focuses his practice on intellectual property law, helping clients protect, enforce, and maximize the value of their innovations and creative assets. He counsels businesses and individuals on securing intellectual property rights, structuring and negotiating licensing agreements, and navigating complex disputes involving patent infringement, unfair trade practices, trade secrets, and related IP matters. Stephen also advises clients on comprehensive intellectual property strategy, portfolio development, and risk mitigation, ensuring their IP assets are aligned with broader business objectives.

Stephen leads and manages complex intellectual property litigation matters across multiple federal jurisdictions, guiding clients through high-stakes disputes with a strategic, results-driven approach. He works closely with clients to develop litigation strategies that not only protect their rights but also position them for long-term success in competitive markets.

A registered patent attorney licensed to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Stephen has successfully prosecuted and secured more than 100 patents across a range of technologies. He also manages and oversees global patent portfolios spanning multiple jurisdictions, helping clients build, maintain, and leverage valuable IP assets worldwide.

Stephen brings a unique, multidisciplinary perspective to his practice, combining legal acumen with hands-on technical experience. He developed a strong litigation foundation at an insurance defense firm in New Orleans, where he represented clients in both state and federal courts. Earlier in his career, Stephen worked as a marine engineer for a leading engineering firm, where he performed structural and mechanical systems analysis for offshore oil rig hulls, conducted modeling and engineering assessments for maritime applications, and collaborated with multidisciplinary teams on design and safety evaluations. This experience informs his ability to understand and advocate for clients in highly technical industries.

Stephen’s practice is defined by a pragmatic, business-focused approach and a commitment to delivering measurable results. His ability to bridge the gap between technical innovation and legal protection makes him a trusted advisor to innovators, manufacturers, and creative professionals alike.
