Zoë Vermeulen brings proven skill to advising businesses regarding labor and employment, commercial litigation, offshore energy, and admiralty/maritime law matters. She is mindful of her clients’ business needs without losing sight of the evolving legal framework in which they must operate.
Zoë is a trusted employment law advisor and strategic HR partner. She delivers a highly personal and focused approach to guiding organizations through the challenges and opportunities of managing today’s workforce. Her employment law practice includes litigating wage and hour disputes under the FLSA, Davis-Bacon Act, and various state laws, as well as defending employers against claims of wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation under Title VII, the FMLA, ADA, ADEA, and other state and federal laws. She also advises clients on employment contracts, non-compete agreements, and high-level executive compensation.
In addition, Zoë represents energy industry businesses in contract negotiation and litigation, including matters involving defense and indemnity obligations, master service agreements, operating agreements, production handling agreements, offshore decommissioning operations, IBLA appeals, property-damage, and high-exposure personal injury disputes. She has extensive knowledge of rights and obligations under General Maritime Law, the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act, and the Jones Act.
