Randy Cangelosi is a partner in the Baton Rouge office of Kean Miller. He joined the firm in 2000 and practices in the litigation group. Randy represents clients in complex medical malpractice defense claims, general litigation, commercial and business litigation, environmental litigation, and personal injury defense. Randy has specific experience in the defense of medical malpractice claims against physicians including preparation and presentation of submissions to medical review panels, bench and jury trials, and appeals. Randy has represented doctors in cases involving alleged failure to diagnose cancer, complications surrounding birth, and complications during and after surgical procedures. He has noteworthy experience in NORM, TERM, oil field pollution, and legacy oil field cases in the energy industry. Randy also handles general litigation cases.
Representative Experience
- Representation of major fast food restaurants and retatilers in defending against personal injury claims on the retailers' premises.
- Successful defense of prominent Louisiana physicians in jury trials alleging medical malpractice.
- Representation of multinational petrochemical companies in cases where plaintiffs assert billion dollar claims in connection with compliance and environmental litigation surrounding production and pipe cleaning activities.
- Successful defense of Baton Rouge surgeon in a case in Baton Rouge District Court in case medical malpractice case.
Education
Randy earned his B.S. from Louisiana State University in 1991. He earned his M.B.A. from Loyola University in 1994 and his J.D., cum laude, in 1994 where he was a member of the Loyola Law Review.
