Randy Cangelosi is a partner in the Baton Rouge office of Kean Miller.  He practices in the litigation group.  Randy represents clients in complex medical malpractice defense claims, products liability, general litigation, commercial and business litigation, environmental litigation, and personal injury defense.  Randy has specific experience in defending medical malpractice claims against physicians and clinics including preparation and presentation of submissions to medical review panels, bench and jury trials, and appeals.  He has trial experience in products liability defense and in large commercial litigation matters. He also has experience in NORM and TERM cases in the energy industry. 

Representative Experience

  • Trial defense of large national manufacturer in products liability litigation for personal injuries.
  • Successful defense of prominent Louisiana physicians in jury trials alleging medical malpractice.
  • Representation of multinational petrochemical companies in cases where the plaintiffs asserted billion dollar claims in connection with compliance and environmental litigation surrounding production and pipe cleaning activities in Louisiana.
  • Representation of major fast food restaurants and retailers in defending against personal injury claims on the retailers' premises.

Education

Randy earned his his J.D., cum laude, in 1994 where he was a member of the Loyola Law Review. He earned his M.B.A. from Loyola University in 1994 and B.S. from Louisiana State University in 1991.
