Chevron Diversity Award
Kean Miller was selected as one of two recipients of the Chevron Corporation Law Function’s Law Firm Diversity Award in 2008, 2010, 2017, and 2023. The award program, started in 2005, recognizes Chevron’s law firm partners who have distinguished themselves by demonstrating their commitment to advancing diversity and inclusion in the legal profession, and by fostering an inclusive work environment.

Over 60 Kean Miller attorneys are AV-rated by the Martindale-Hubbell legal directory. An AV-rating reflects the confidential opinions of bar members and the judiciary and attests to the individual attorney’s legal ability and adherence to professional standards of ethics. The Martindale-Hubbell AV-rating indicates very high to preeminent legal ability and very high ethical standards as established by confidential opinions from members of the bar.
American Colleges
Kean Miller attorneys have been recognized for professional excellence by the prominent legal colleges. Charles McCowan, Vance Gibbs, Jim Doré, and Jim Silverstein are all members of the American College of Trial Lawyers. In addition, Mack Gregorie is a member of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys, Jaye Calhoun and Willie Kolarik are fellows of the American College of Tax Counsel, and Bob MacIntyre and Cameron McCulloch are both members of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel.
Bar Association Service and Awards
Karli Johnson and Jay Jalenak previously served as President of the Baton Rouge Bar Association. Kean Miller environmental and toxic tort partner Esteban Herrera served as chair of the Environmental Law Section of the Louisiana State Bar Association. The Environmental Law Section has approximately 350 members across the state of Louisiana. Karli Johnson and Vic Suane have been elected as Outstanding Young Lawyers of the Year by the Louisiana State Bar Association. Bill Ogden served as a director of the State Bar of Texas from 2008-2011. Robert Kallam is the recipient of the 2019 Federal Bar Association Lafayette Acadiana Chapter Professionalism Award. Robert served as President of the Lafayette Bar Association in 2023.
Kean Miller’s law school preparatory program for minority and women college students, Kean Miller Connection, was selected as a recipient of the Louisiana State Bar Association’s Guardian of Diversity Award. This award recognizes local and specialty bar associations, courts, law firms/departments, community organizations, and educational organizations that implement and advance diversity programs to promote and support diversity in the legal community.
Numerous Kean Miller attorneys are involved in leadership positions in the Louisiana and Texas State, Baton Rouge, New Orleans, and Southwest Louisiana Bar Associations.

Chambers is widely regarded as the preeminent European referral guide for the U.S. legal profession. Three current Kean Miller attorneys have been recognized by Baton Rouge Business Report as Influential Women in Business. Katherine King was recognized for her work to help keep Louisiana industry competitive. Linda Perez Clark was recognized for her legal skill, community involvement, civic leadership, and entrepreneurial spirit. Lana Crump was recognized for her unique role as Kean Miller’s General Counsel, and for her leadership of the firm’s Ethics Committee, enthusiasm for her client’s legal needs, and commitment to the Baton Rouge community.
Louisiana Appleseed
Kean Miller has been selected for the Louisiana Appleseed “Good Apple” award as a result of the firm’s pro bono project on dating violence prevention. Kean Miller attorneys helped research, draft, and pass legislation that requires dating violence prevention be taught in all Louisiana high schools.
Law School Leadership
Kean Miller attorneys have strong academic backgrounds. More than 40 have been elected to the Order of the Coif, the highest academic honor awarded in law school. Many have served as editors-in-chief, editors, and staff writers for the Louisiana Law Review, Southern Law Review, Tulane Law Review, and Loyola Law Review. Many attorneys have served, or presently serve, as Adjunct Professors at the LSU Law Center, Southern University Law School, Tulane Law School, and Loyola Law School.
