Kean Miller Names Three New Partners

Kean Miller is pleased to announce that Beau Bourgeois, Jeff Gelpi, and Lauren Rucinski have been elected to the partnership effective January 1, 2024. “We are proud to welcome these lawyers as partners in our firm. Thomas D. “Beau” Bourgeois, Jr. practices in the commercial litigation and construction litigation groups. He is listed in Louisiana Super Lawyers as a Rising Star for 2023 and 2024 and The Best Lawyers in America as a One to Watch for 2023 and 2024. Beau is a frequent contributor to the Louisiana Law Blog on construction law and litigation topics.

Beau earned his J.D./D.C.L., summa cum laude, from the LSU Law Center in 2016, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif and served as an Issue Editor for the Louisiana Law Review. He earned his B.S.M., cum laude, from Tulane University, A.B. Freeman School of Business in 2013.

In the community, Beau serves on the Board of Directors for Big Buddy Program. Big Buddy strives to build a community of mentoring relationships that advance and inspire youth to create meaningful change.

Jeffrey J. Gelpi practices in the environmental litigation and commercial litigation groups. He served as a law clerk to the Honorable Carl J. Barbier of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana and later served as a law clerk to the Honorable Edith Brown Clement of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Jeff is listed as a Rising Star by Louisiana Super Lawyers for 2020, 2023 and 2024.

Jeff earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Tulane University Law School in 2015, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif and served as an editor of the Tulane Law Review, a member of the Tulane Moot Court Board, and a Legal Research and Writing Senior Fellow. He received the numerous awards for his contributions to the Tulane Law Review. After graduation, Jeff was appointed to serve as a junior member of the Louisiana State Law Institute. Jeff earned his B.A., magna cum laude, from Louisiana State University in 2012.

Lauren J. Rucinski practices in the environmental regulatory and intellectual property groups. She is listed in Louisiana Super Lawyers as a Rising Star for 2022-2024 and The Best Lawyers in America as a One to Watch for 2024.

Lauren earned her J.D./D.C.L., magna cum laude, from the LSU Law Center in 2016, where she was a member of the Order of the Coif, the Louisiana Law Review, and the Civil Mediation Clinic. Lauren earned her B.S. in Aerospace Engineering and Ocean Engineering with a minor in Green Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 2013.

In the community, Lauren serves on the Parish Advisory Council for the Boys & Girls Club of Metro Louisiana, and for three years served as the Annual Baton Rouge Fundraising Dinner Chair. The Boys & Girls Club seeks to enable all young people, especially those in need, to reach their full potential.
