Unpaid Interns Put Employers at Legal Risk

The legal ramifications of unpaid internship programs have had their share of the spotlight in recent months. Several major media companies — including Hearst Magazines, Fox Searchlight Pictures and Condé Nast — have been hit with class action lawsuits claiming the companies’ unpaid internship programs violated minimum wage requirements.
