Micro Chemical Company Team Recognized By LDEQ and U.S. EPA

Kean Miller LLP is pleased to announce that Leonard L. “Len” Kilgore, III, a senior partner in the Environmental and Litigation groups and a founding member of the firm, has been recognized by the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality and the United States Environmental Protection Agency (Region 6) for his work in connection with the successful achievement of a determination that the Micro Chemical Company’s Winnsboro, Louisiana facility is “Ready for Reuse”.   The Ready for Reuse Certificates of Recognition were presented to Micro Chemical Company President, Vernon Dunn; Dave Upthegrove with Pisani and Associates; and Mr. Kilgore by LDEQ Secretary Peggy M. Hatch and U.S. EPA Region 6 Multimedia Planning and Permitting Division Director Carl E. Edlund.  

About Len Kilgore

Mr. Kilgore is a partner in the Baton Rouge office of Kean Miller LLP.  He is one of the founding members of the firm and has more than 30 years of  litigation experience in environmental and toxic tort litigation, including class action, multiple joinder, and toxic tort cases. Len represents local, national and international commercial, energy and industrial clients in litigation involving toxic tort claims, personal injury, property damage claims, and class actions.  Much of the litigation he has handled requires the development of complex expert testimony and scientific evidence.  Mr. Kilgore is listed in The Best Lawyers in America, (Woodward, White Inc., 2007-2011) and in Chambers USA - America’s Leading Lawyers for Business (2006-2010).  He earned his J.D. from the LSU Law Center in 1976 where he was a member of the Louisiana Law Review and Phi Kappa Phi.  He has served as an Adjunct Professor teaching Louisiana Environmental Law at the Tulane Law School.  He earned his B.A. from Louisiana State University in 1973.  Mr. Kilgore is a member of the Baton Rouge, Louisiana State (Environmental Law Section) and American (Land and Natural Resources Section; Vice Chair, Committee on Environmental and Toxic Torts, 1989-1990) Bar Associations, Defense Research Institute, Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel, Louisiana Bar Foundation, and is a member of the Chancellor's Council at the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center where he serves on the Law Center Board of Trustees.
