Ambrose is a smart and determined advocate who is valued for thinking outside of the box when it comes to focusing on the solutions his clients need to realize their right end game.
As a member of the firm’s offshore energy and marine and mass tort and class action litigation groups, Ambrose focuses his practice on offshore energy and marine litigation, upstream and downstream pipeline claims and disputes, and other excess and complex casualty claims.
Ambrose litigates a variety of widespread claims across various industries for excess and primary exposures in both state and federal court, handling matters from pre-litigation investigation and defense through trial and appeal. Clients particularly value Ambrose’s ability to evaluate claims early, identify strengths and vulnerabilities, and provide efficient, strategic guidance that enables clients to evaluate whether early resolution or vigorous defense on substantive or procedural grounds is the most advantageous course.
His experience includes successfully representing defendants in multi-million-dollar fatality and casualty cases, sexual assault claims, offshore and inland platform injuries, foreign and domestic contract disputes and collections actions, upstream pipeline claims, environmental exposure and pollution claims, asbestos litigation, and other complex claims.
In service to the oil and gas and offshore energy sectors, Ambrose handles any and all client needs that arise, including contract review and formation, oil well lien enforcement and defense, vessel seizures, limitation of liability actions, contractual defense and indemnity issues, and more operational and risk-management matters.
Ambrose believes that evaluating each case through the lens of how it will be perceived by a judge or jury and knowing where the cases strengths and weaknesses lie positions his clients for success. His disciplined early analysis of case strengths and weaknesses allows him to leverage advantages effectively and pursue favorable resolutions whenever possible.
Prior to entering private practice, Ambrose served as a Judicial Extern for Judge John W. deGravelles of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana and as an extern with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Louisiana. These experiences shaped Ambrose’s understanding of the courts from an insider’s perspective, giving him valuable hands-on experience with the processes that inform judges’ decision-making, as well as a practical understanding of the methods of gathering evidence and bringing a case to trial.
