Kean Miller represents Fortune 1000 manufacturing, industrial, energy, technology, petrochemical, and food service clients in liability litigation involving mass disaster or individual incidents with machinery, safety equipment, tools, and various industrial and consumer products. We work with clients to develop early, effective strategies for disposition of cases and dockets and emphasize the development of litigation strategies for multiple cases over a period of time. We represent clients in numerous jurisdictions throughout North America, in both state and federal courts, as lead trial counsel and as National Counsel.

We also assist our clients with compliance and regulatory issues, in reviewing promotional material, and in preparing documentation to communicate information about products to the public at large. • Representation of numerous companies as National Counsel in over 30 different states, Canadian provinces, and Puerto Rico during the past five years.
• National Counsel for a Fortune 100 company that manufactures and distributes thousands of industrial, commercial, safety, and consumer products.
• Representation of a global e-commerce retailer in product liability claims in multiple states.
• Tried a three-week jury trial for an electric motor manufacturer involving a barn fire in which numerous thoroughbred racehorses were lost, and plaintiff sought $7,000,000 in damages. A jury returned a defense verdict for a fraction of this amount.
• Product liability defense of online marketplaces, platforms, and stores. We serve as both local and National Counsel in various states for this representation.
• Representation of numerous China-based manufacturers and distributors in product liability claims throughout the country as local counsel and National Counsel.
• Obtained defense verdicts in Louisiana (federal and state courts), Texas (federal court) and Mississippi (state and federal courts) for ladder manufacturers in multiple cases.
• Representation of one of the world’s largest software and technology companies in a product liability class action involving their computer operating system. Successful defeated the class action certification and had the remaining individual claims dismissed.
• Defended global pesticide manufacturer and distributors in multi-plaintiff lawsuits, including trials to verdict.
• Defense of truck manufacturers, seatbelt manufacturers, and manufacturers of other automotive components throughout the United States.
• Representation of national power tool manufacturers in personal injury actions and fire claims.
• Counsel for international manufacturer in numerous product liability cases in which the plaintiffs allege injuries as a result of exposure to various chemicals.
• Representation of global chemical and plastic companies in product liability actions.
• Defended various chemical plants and operators in connection with issues of defective design of equipment involved in fires or explosions.
• Defense of international paint and coatings manufacturers.
• Representation of pharmaceutical companies in class actions and multi-district litigation proceedings.
• Counsel to a major appliance manufacturer in a product liability case involving allegations of brain damage and other health problems resulting from alleged exposure to excess levels of carbon monoxide emitted from an oven. The case was resolved through mediation.
• Representation of valve manufacturers and related components in numerous lawsuits.
• Representation of an industrial crane manufacturer in defense of product liability, defective design, and product failure claims regarding the collapse of cranes.
• Representation of major companies that manufacturer “highlines” trucks, all-terrain vehicles, and large earth moving machines in product liability claims, involving alleged defects in design and function.
• Counsel for a large food company in defense of product liability actions regarding foreign substances in processed food products.
