Litigation Paralegal - Baton Rouge

Responsibilities include case management, discovery, research, trial prep and client reporting. Applicants should have strong organizational skills, an eye for detail, excellent communication skills and work well under pressure. Experience using technology for litigation support, document management and trial preparation highly desired. Must be able to work independently and as part of the team. Ability to use good judgment in taking initiative and proceeding on a project or getting direction and further clarification. A bachelor’s degree or associates degree is required as well as a paralegal certificate from an ABA approved school. Minimum of 5 years paralegal experience in litigation preferred. Top pay, full paid benefits package and work with a phenomenal practice group.

Financial Analyst - Baton Rouge

The Financial Analyst functions as the primary reporting resource for the Firm’s Financial System. The analyst is responsible for the development and implementation of custom reports. This position reports to the CFO.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage month-end closing for billing system
  • Coordinate and work closely with supervisors of other groups and brief them on the reporting requirement
  • Coordinate with technical support when issues cannot be resolved
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance
  • 2-3 years’ experience in Accounting 
  • Keen ability to multitask while working with many people
  • Experience in financial reporting 
  • Experience working with Elite in a law firm environment very helpful
  • Knowledge of Adobe Workflow and Metastorm is desired
  • Experience in Project Management; PMP certification highly desired

Billing Coordinator - Baton Rouge

This position is responsible for the coordination of the client billing process. This may include reviewing and maintaining billing memos, preparing billing memos and/or invoices for review by the billing partner, coordinating the processing of the bills and ensuring client guidelines are followed. Electronic billing is a main function of the Billing Coordinator’s responsibilities.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Compiles and bills timekeeper hours and client costs every month or as directed by the billing attorney
  • Submits invoices to Accounts Receivables if directed
  • Execute complex bills in a timely manner (i.e. multiple discounts by matter, split-party billing, and preparation of electronic bills)
  • Review and verify accuracy of billing and supporting documentation as required
  • Research and respond to inquiries regarding billing issues and problems
  • Review new matters set up in Electronic File Opening System daily and verify/ enter billing instructions in Elite for all new matters
  • Maintain and be familiar with client billing guidelines for all assigned clients; keeps others in Billing department informed of changes
  • Create and distributes monthly reports
  • Utilizes computerized accounting and billing software programs (Elite, Electronic File Opening System, Timekeeping System, Excel, Word, PDF Converter, and Redwood as needed) for billing and reporting
  • Assists with special projects as needed

Requirements:

  • High School diploma equivalent or higher. College degree preferred.
  • 2- 3 years billing experience in professional service firm. Law Firm experience a plus.
  • Able to work under pressure, independently as well as with a team
  • Excellent communication skills are required with both attorneys and staff to ensure accurate and timely billing is accomplished
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office products, with strong focus on excel. Experience with a comprehensive accounting system a plus.

AP Coordinator - Baton Rouge

This position is responsible for processing client related invoices for payment including urgent check request, setting up new vendors, performing bank reconciliations and preparing month-end reports in an accurately and timely manner.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Process client related invoices daily, including urgent check request: review invoices and required documentation & obtain approval prior to payment. Print & obtains signatures on checks. Answer all vendor inquires.
  • Process manual checks
  • Set up new vendors and mail out W-9 quarterly to obtain tax ID# from vendors
  • Process clients-related travel reimbursements requests
  • Perform bank reconciliations
  • Assists in month-end closings
  • Manage year end 1099 process

Requirements:

  • High School diploma equivalent or higher. College degree preferred.
  • 2-3 years of accounting experience. Law Firm experience a plus.
  • Able to work under pressure, independently as well as with a team.
  • Excellent communication skills are required with both attorneys and staff to ensure accurate and timely billing is accomplished.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office products, with strong focus on excel. Experience with a comprehensive accounting system a plus.
