Kean Miller is pleased to announce that Chevron Corporation has selected the firm as one of two recipients of the 2023 Chevron Law Function’s 19th annual Law Firm Diversity Award. The award program, started in 2005, recognizes Chevron law firm partners that have distinguished themselves by demonstrating their commitment to advancing diversity and inclusion in the legal profession, and by fostering an inclusive work environment.

Diversity at Kean Miller
For 40 years, Kean Miller has recognized the value of a positive workplace environment that promotes diversity. The best evidence of this commitment is found in the statistics: Kean Miller has one of the highest percentages of women attorneys (46%) and women partners (26%) of any major law firm, and the firm ranks among law firms having the highest percentages of minority attorneys (14%); Since January 1, 2020, 42% of attorneys promoted to partner were women, and 64% of new attorney hires were women. One example of this commitment is Kean Miller Connection
, a full-day law school preparatory program for groups traditionally underrepresented in the legal profession. This year’s event took place in July 2023 with 29 participants, the largest class ever. Kean Miller attorneys, along with attorneys from outside the firm, provide an overview of the law school experience. The goal is to connect the participant with information helpful to their decision to attend law school and become an attorney. More than 300 women and ethnically diverse college students have participated in Kean Miller Connection since its inception, and many have enrolled in law school after the program. Two Kean Miller Connection graduates are attorneys at Kean Miller, including one partner.
